Hello!
This section of the site is different from the U.S. sections. On those pages, actual first-hand recommendations by myself and other contributors are posted.
I'm in the process of collecting information on Australian trails/tracks for an article for an Australian website. Some of this information has been provided by helpful government officials. Other information, I found on the internet. As I have not been to Australia, I do not have first-hand experience of any of these hikes. I recommend contacting the specific parks before attempting these trails. If you have hiked any of these trails, please send in a review!
There are a few differences in American and Australian hiking terminology.
American termAustralian term
trail track
paved/asphalt sealed/bitumen
parking lot car park
note: In the U.S., walk on the right side of the trail and pass on the left. In Australia, walk on the left side of the trail and pass on the right. This is very important for multi-use/bike paths.
