Des Plaines River Trail- northeastern Illinois

recommended by Suzanne and Elizabeth from Wisconsin

- "beautiful" 31 mile multi-use trail runs parallel to Des Plaines River

- 6/+ foot wide dirt tail with fine gravel- easy for wheelchair to manuever

- the trail and the greenway cover 7,800 acres in northern Illinois just south of the Wisconsin- Illinois border

- many parking areas with trail access.  As this trail covers such a huge area, I'm not listing directions to a specific parking area or trailhead.  Please click on link below for more info and map.
