Esplanade walkway along Willamette River- downtown Portland

- 3 mile wheelchair accessible loop around Willamette River

- north side of loop is the Steel Bridge

- east side of loop, which includes a 1200 foot floating walkway, runs along east side of river   see top photo below

- south side of loop is Hawthorne Bridge

- west side of loop runs through Tom McCall Waterfront Park and along west side of river 

multi-use trail- can be very busy

Oaks Bottom Trail- Portland

another great recommendation from Todd from OR

- 1 mile south of Portland

- directions:  on east side of Esplanade continue south of Hawthorne Bridge, connects to Oak Bottom Trail

- 2 mile multi-use, out and back trail

- trail continues along east bank of Willamette River

- "dead flat" except for one slight dip

- park of 160 acre Oaks Bottom Refuge

- train track rarely used
