Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve - just south of Grand Teton National Park
this beautiful preserve just opened in 2008
-enter on Moose-Wilson Road, note: narrow road-drive carefully
- limited parking- you may have to wait for a spot to open up
- gravel in parking lot is kind of deep
- huge accessible restroom in parking lot. note: you may need help opening the restroom door. If you're alone, the parking attendant will help you.
path to Woodland Trail *
- this is really a short hike but worth the effort. It's unbelievably beautiful.
-five foot wide compacted dirt and gravel path starts at parking lot, runs past visitor center, to Woodland Trail trailhead
- includes:
boardwalk pullout over Lake Creek
pullout next to scenic waterall- can stick your feet in the water!
last scenic viewpoint is a bridge over Lake Creek. However, it's a rather steep incline up to the bridge so wheelchair hikers may need assistance.
- after the bridge, the trail is not wheelchair accessible. My mom continued up the Woodland Trail to the Phelps Lake overview and she said it's really amazing. Woodland Trail loop is 2.9 miles.
